The tree rounds up each branch on its own; the totals above share leftovers between branches, so they can be lower.
How it works
Every recipe makes a fixed batch: one log gives 4 planks, two planks give 4 sticks, six iron give 16 rails. You can only craft whole batches, so the calculator rounds up at each step and tracks what's left over.
Leftovers are shared across the whole order. If one item needs 2 sticks and another needs 3, you craft sticks twice (8 sticks), not once for each — so the totals are often lower than adding items up one by one.
By default ingots, glass, stone and other furnace products count as raw materials. Turn on smelting to break them down to ores, sand and cobblestone as well. Netherite gear is made at a smithing table from the diamond version, a netherite ingot and an upgrade template.
Formulas
- Crafts needed
- crafts = ⌈needed ÷ recipe output⌉
- Leftover
- leftover = crafts × output − needed
- Ingredients
- ingredient demand += crafts × ingredient count
FAQ
Does it count leftovers?
Yes. Demand for each item is added up across the whole order before rounding to whole crafts, so leftovers from one branch are reused by another.
How many iron ingots does an anvil need?
31: three blocks of iron (27 ingots) plus 4 ingots.
Why does the tree show more than the totals?
The tree breaks down each item on its own and rounds up at every branch. The totals share batches between branches, which is what you'd actually craft.
Does the wood type matter?
No — recipes are shown with oak, and every wood type uses the same amounts.
